Paintings on Canvas over the past couple of weeks. Below are some students from Manchester University.

 

Portrait Painting in Oils of Penny. Painted in 6 hours in the All Day Portrait session at phoenix House Manchester.

 

Portrait Classes on Sunday, just a couple of images from the portrait class on Sunday, The models were Penny and Peter. The early students had the advantage of choosing between the model and best angles to work from for the rest of the day.

Oil Portrait in 2 Hours

This oil portrait was done in 2 hours using a limited palette of red oxide, ultramarine and white.

Hilton Hotel

Mainly painted using red oxide, ultramarine blue and purple madder.

For this oil painting I used a limited palette of Red oxide, Ultramarine Blue and Titanium White.

Glaze Paint Technique

Below is an example of the portrait glazed in front of the class on the weekend Glazing Workshop.  Each step is demonstrated for a couple of minutes, any questions answered and then the class repeats.

Oil Portrait Painting 4 Hours

Below is a portrait painted in 4 hours of Lucy using an old reference photo. Sometimes working from a photo is convenient when practicing if there are no models available on the day.
